Cream Skimmers, 4 Off

Description

Hopefully the offer of the month. These seem to sell for £65 to £85 each as a general rule. Here we are able to offer 4. The one on the left is particularly detailed. The handle has an interesting repair, maybe stood on by a cow and as things were repaired 100 plus years ago not just replaced, it has been repaired. Two others have wooden handles one with signs of some worm but we have sat this in killer so they would be seriously robust if making it through that. The four are £100 the lot. Priced to sell. Largest round is 24cms, tallest is 55cms. Could look good in a restaurant or maybe a dairy selling farm produce, or they could sit in a tea room. Perhaps best of all in your kitchen. Give us a call to discuss. 01565 874075

Silver Toast Rack, Birmingham Assay Mark

Description

A pretty silver toast rack from the workshops of John Millward Banks who operated from Northampton Road in Birmingham. He opened in 1863 and retired in 1905. This pretty rack is in good condition and might make a nice present for someone's collection perhaps. The Birmingham assay mark seems to depict 1876 but could be 1901. We suggest the latter by the style etc. So its well over 100 years old. Priced very much to sell at only £100, we can't see a better deal ! give us a call if you would like to discuss.

A Neat French Gilt Mirror

Description

In really quite amazing original condition. This mirror which has been in use in my own home is now available owing to a change around. It has the original glass which does show its age and the frame is displying superb detail which is almost unmarked since when it was made in the 1800s. The gilt finish has only faded a little but is still intact as it should be. We think it would be really difficult to find a better more original and undamaged example for this kind of money elsewhere, if not impossibile. A special item and a neat size, can make a lovely overmantle.

Pair Of Silver Napkin Rings From Reign Of George Vl

Description

A pair of silver napkin rings which carry a London assay mark from the reign of George V1. They could make a great present perhaps if you know someone with the initial JW or TW or if you know people with both that could be fantasic. These initials are on the rings, JW on one, TW on the other. They are £44 for the pair, we would split them but we are afraid it would be £30 for one. Dating from 1938 they have remained in great condition.

Impressive Spelter Lamp

Description

A rather unusual spelter lamp depicting a steel worker. Its a good impressive size and makes quite a talking piece. The basket on the base lights up and can be on by itself or with the other lights. It is in working order but we confirm we feel it needs to be rewired to bring it up to date in that respect. It is for sale on behalf of a client who is moving house. Also available if the buyer would like, is a totally non associated shade that fits rather well. Picture shows this in place. Available at a reasonable price we feel for something that in good condition with tidy mouldings and overall condition. Give us a call if you would like to discuss. Have your family got a history in Steel making, this could be unmissable.

Very Pretty Silver Cake Fork 1907.

Description

A very pretty cake fork from early 1900s (1907) by Birmingham silver smiths Levi and Salaman. In clean condition with clear detailing on handle and good assay marks. Prongs have a little sign of use but nothing broken and a really nice little itme. A good addition to a collection as certainly rather different. Will post if required for £5.00 in UK.

Antique Fire Grate, With Cast Fender

Description

This is an impressive ensemble comprising the cast fire back with date of 1679. The word 'pax' can be seen in the casting which we suggest was to show relief that the reign on the monarchy was restored. King Charles ll had returned from France and taken up the throne a little while before. The country was getting back to some normality after the Cromwellian era. The actual basket has been replaced in the past and is not buckled, this sits on a pair of matching cast fire dogs. Also included is a cast fender, which on its own can command a price of around £150 to £200, and some seem to be up to £350. This is in great condition with quite a fine casting. The whole ensemble is offered here for £460, the most competitive package we can see anywhere.

Thames View Interesting Engraving Of 1800s London

Description

The longest engraving we have ever had if memory serves me well. This example of the Thames from the 1800s shows numerous buildings and locations along the river. There are quite a few as its almost 4m long. How good would this look in a restaurant or pub if someone does not snap it up for long wall in an industrial conversion building. Anyone with a London or Thames interest would surely find this facinating. The engraving is clear and most readable, the frame is good and we suggest done in the 1960s maybe. What a great feature for only £150.00. Never to be repeated we think. Give us a call to discuss. 01565 874075

Gilt Wall Mirror, 19thC Flamboyant Rococo

Description

This Gilt mirror from the 19th Century is flamboyant even for a Rococo example. If you would like a statement piece this is certainly it. A quite unusual size it would fit into many spaces a larger one would not go. It is in pretty good condition considering the amount of detail and the mirror glass is good too. Set Of 8 Cut Glass / Crystal Wine Glasses

Description

A set of 8 cut glass wine glasses which we believe to be Stuart Crystal in the Glengarry design. They are in good condition but a couple of the rims have been refinshed so no chips now. These are or should we say were about £70 each when new but this set of 8 is only £100. Very good value for a quality set. We have also listed a set of 12, quite rare, of similar glasses but the slightly smaller size. A superb Christmas present perhaps and a very keen price.

Set Of 12 Crystal Wine Glasses

Description

A rather rare set of 12 cut crystal wine or claret glasses. I believe these to be Stuart Crystal Glengarry design, they are in good condition and would make a superb Christmas or say a housewarming present for a modest outlay compared to new. They are in truth as good as new. That price I understand was about £70 each but these are available for £150 for the full set. We have a set of 8 slightly larger ones too so if interested give us a call please. 01565 874075
