Solid 5 Branch Brass Ceiling Light Fitting.

Description

This brass ceilng or centre light from the early half of the last century is not the normal example. This one is heavy, solid and well made. It has 5 branches and a substantial brass chain that can hang from the rose or hook on your ceiling. It has had a light clean, if you wanted it to look brighter it is easily possible with further cleaning, but many may well prefer the mellowed appearance it currently has. Castings are clean, crisp and well detailed We have had this on the bench and it is in full working order as can be seen in one of the pictures.. You should have this checked by your electrician before use however to ensure compliance with current regulations. The height mentioned below is without the chain length. A keen price for this quality of only £165.00. Dont hesitate to give us a call 01565 874075

Cream Skimmers, 4 Off

Description

Hopefully the offer of the month. These seem to sell for £65 to £85 each as a general rule. Here we are able to offer 4. The one on the left is particularly detailed. The handle has an interesting repair, maybe stood on by a cow and as things were repaired 100 plus years ago not just replaced, it has been repaired. Two others have wooden handles one with signs of some worm but we have sat this in killer so they would be seriously robust if making it through that. The four are £100 the lot. Priced to sell. Largest round is 24cms, tallest is 55cms. Could look good in a restaurant or maybe a dairy selling farm produce, or they could sit in a tea room. Perhaps best of all in your kitchen. Give us a call to discuss. 01565 874075

Silver Toast Rack, Birmingham Assay Mark

Description

A pretty silver toast rack from the workshops of John Millward Banks who operated from Northampton Road in Birmingham. He opened in 1863 and retired in 1905. This pretty rack is in good condition and might make a nice present for someone's collection perhaps. The Birmingham assay mark seems to depict 1876 but could be 1901. We suggest the latter by the style etc. So its well over 100 years old. Priced very much to sell at only £100, we can't see a better deal ! give us a call if you would like to discuss.

Serious Quality Inlaid Rosewood Stool,

Description

It would be hard to improve on the quality of this Rosewood stool. It is heavy for its size of course being in rosewood and has a fine detailing in both the style and the inlays. The inlays are very nicely detailed and run doen the face of each leg, there is also a string inlay around the seat. Rewaxed in our workshops it is ready for a new life elsewhere. It has a turn mechanism from the workshops of Joseph Fitter, renouned for his wind gear for extending tables. This is in sound and very useable condition, would suit a dressing table as well as a piano of course, maybe a desk if space is at a premium. In any case quality is all and this has it by the bucket load. Dating from the late 1800s possibly early 1900s it is not to be missed at this very highly competitive price of £225. Please compare what you will normally pay for this kind of quality and then give us a call.

38cms diameter on seat. height 49 but adjustable of course.

Four Poster Bed, Carved Base

Description

Impressive but unfussy four poster bed. This we suspect was likely made in the colonies for the English market around 1900. The base is carved all the way round and everything sits on the cabriole legs. This is a really good size to take a king size mattress. Many antique four post beds are of course quite small. This one has the turned pillars and the gallery around the top, just waiting for your own detailing if required. THe original base is in hard wood as of course is the whole bed, teak we suspect. It has been cleaned and refinished in our workshops so is in very nice tidy condition. It comes into numerous pieces for easy installation so that is not a problem almost anywhere. All you need is your own mattress of choice. Keenly priced, why pay more?

Impressive Pair Of Bedside Cabinets / Cupboards

Description

A lovely pair of Bedside cabinets from around the turn of the last century. These arts and crafts designed cupboards in Ash are in very tidy condition and the tops in Carrera marble are also really clean.Easy to wipe and should not get damaged by a hot cup of tea in the morning or your night cap when going to bed. The cabinet furniture is original and all in place. We have cleaned these in our workshops and they are now ready for a new adventure in their lives, hopefully being around for another couple of centuries. They are well made, as one might expect with this amount of detail in the design and the excellent quality of the brassware. Give us a call if you would like to discuss. Delivery can be arranged at cost to most areas.

Rare Set Of 12 Ceramic Tiles Circa 1900.

Description

A set of tiles by Craven Dunnill, who have been in operation from the 1870s, from circa 1900. They are in great condition with good colour. They were removed from a piece of furniture a while ago and replaced with a piece of marble. We thought they would be used before now but as they have not, they can be sold. It is rare to find a set these days and really rare to find a set of 12 unless they have been in a fireplace and then they usually have damage. They look as if the were delivered last week not 100 plus years ago.
