This is a very good quality antique English yew wood Victorian style swivel office captains’ armchair (circa 1960 - 1980). Yew wood is much more sought after than mahogany. The chair features the original deep-buttoned green leather seat, back and arms. The chair features its original seat studwork it has elegant shaped arms and a spindled back. The base of the chair features elegant splayed yew wood legs and the original castors. The chair has a light yew wood colour. The chair rotates 360 degrees and has a reclining action and the height can be adjusted. The chair is very comfortable and has a fantastic colour.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or study as it is so comfortable. This item would certainly grace any home. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.
Condition Report
The chair is in very good working order it has the original mechanism, leather and castors, lifts up and down and reclines. Yew wood is much more sought after than mahogany. The leather is in excellent condition with minor colour variations to the leather (especially the arms), which is due to use (see photos). There is a small chip on the left arm under the leather (see photo). Free of worm-worm, nominal old use marks, solid in joint and ready to use.
