A very evocative signed pastel on card of Woodland in Normandy by Peter Perry, artist son of Biddy Piccard. This is a really lovely little picture and its execution shows both skill and empathy for the subject.

ARTIST INFORMATION
The natural environment provides much of Perrys' inspiration, much of his work is landscape depictions of quickly- changing subjects such as the sky, and water. His work varies enormously in scale and focus, from small, intimate glimpses of nature, but also the huge sweep of a landscape or sky with little or no detail. He works mainly in oils or pastel, often using the latter for small studies, some of which are later developed as large paintings. Such studies include some of his best work, often having a spontaneity and feel that’s very difficult to scale up. Pastels give these studies subtle atmospheric effects.
