Antique Wooden French Articulated Artists Lay Figure & Head Collection c.1900

Circa 1900
Origin - Likely French.

A late 19th / early 20th century large sized fully articulated artist lay figure.
- With a female head, left foot, right foot and right hand. These are all of superior quality.
-The figure when not fitted with head & feet measuring 60cm in height with an arm-span of 57cm

The sale also includes a further selection of seven hand carved and painted Lay Figure changeable heads used depending on what the artists would like to create.
There are six male and one female head. The heads have all been hand carved in the same manner and painted similarly.
The heights of these range between 17.5cm and 12cm.
The holes at the bottom where they are placed upon the Lay Figure body all slightly differ in size - So they don't all fit this particular figure without the use of a bit of scrap paper or blue tack to wedge inside.

I have never quite seen a collection quite like this - Super rare & collectable item.

Condition -
Figure in full working moving order.
Left hand missing,
Historic signs of worm to the central ball joint (treated as a precaution) and possible repair to one arm where some glue residue is visible.
The heads all good condition apart from a single small chip to the hair of the dark grey haired & bearded man.
