An elegant and substantial William IV armchair, with its square upholstered shoulder rest, out swept slender arms with scrolled ends. Each arm is upholstered with a small braided pad for added comfort. This is matched with the drop in seat pad which can easily be removed for re-upholstery if required. It is finished with elegant front legs, and decoratively turned stretchers, making this item extremely sturdy. This piece would make an elegant hall/office chair, and being made in Rosewood, is extremely rare. The item is in good, sturdy condition however, there is a small amount of veneer missing from the side of the top shoulder pad as photographs show. This is a very small amount of damage for a piece of this age to have.
