White Star Line Oil Portrait Of An Officer White Star Line Officer in Mess or Summer Uniform Oil Portraits Titanic %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE A VERY RARE EXAMPLE OF A WHITE STAR LINE OFFICER IN MESS OR SUMMER UNIFORM PAINTED ON CANVAS IN THE ORIGINAL GILT PLASTER CAST FRAME.

OFFICERS UNIFORM (Visit Link Below For Details).

Tropical or "Summer" Dress For tropical dress, both the jacket and pants were white, and often, the shoes as well. The jacket was high "Russian" collared, and was single breasted, with only 5 buttons. Shoulder boards were worn with this instead of cuff braid on the sleeves. No tie was worn with summer dress, and the only shirt would have been a sleeveless undershirt.

Mess Dress "Mess Dress", as it is called, was for formal occaisions.
Essentially the same uniform, it was white, and of much lighter fabric.

FURTHER DETAILS TO FOLLOW ON THE POSSIBLE
IDENTIFICATION OF THE SITTER AND HIS RANK.

COULD HE HAVE SERVED ON THE INFAMOUS TITANIC ?

RARE SURVIVING PORTRAIT
There are very few surviving oil portraits of serving White Star Line officers, painted around the actual timeline of the famous Titanic disaster, which would perhaps be an ideal addition in the museum
dedicated to the Titanic story.

This portrait would ideally suit a collector of the White Star Line Company, and definately someone captivated with the common connection to the
RMS TITANIC and the story of the disaster 14th April 1912,finally sinking after midnight on the 15th
