Wheeler Of Arncroach Gossip Chair
A charming oak gossip chair by Wheelers of Arncroach in Fife. The classic Chippendale style back has an open splat and curved top ends having a drop in seat. There are large square legs to the front and slightly out swept back legs, united by an H stretcher and a cross stretcher at the back.
The well-known 'Gossip' chair was a design by Sir Robert Lorimer of Kellie Castle in Scotland and made by William Wheeler of Arncroach in Fife who was both joiner and wheelwright to the Lorimer family.
The Wheelers had many collaborations with Sir Robert Lorimer and executed several of his designs.

Width = 48 cm (18.9")
Depth = 51 cm (20.1") All measurements are done to the widest point .
