Excellent quality Welsh oak press or kitchen cupboard c.1870. Cupboard top with two shelves, on a two over two chest of drawers. Shaped cornice with attractive mahogany discs to the front corners and crossbanded mahogany frieze below. Fantastic twisted mahogany columns to either side of the doors, which feature arch topped panels with mahogany beading. The columns are repeated on the base, with an interesting pull out slide to the waist with pull out supports or lopers either side. Brass handles to the slide and supports, with turned mahogany handles to the drawers, all raised on nicely shaped and pierced bracket feet. Excellent colour and original condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
