This is an impressive Antique Victorian period Writing Slope / Lap Desk Stationery Box which bears the makers label for Wells & Lambe.

Included is a key for the lock, which is in working order and locks shut when closed, so must be careful not to leave the key inside.

The box is in good condition but does exhibit some age-related wear from handling and use, which includes some light surface marks to the interior and some surface marks to the wooden exterior, commensurate with its age. To the top there are two letter M’s, presumably the initials of a previous owner.

It is a marvellous compact box which measures approximately 36cm wide, 27cm deep and 13cm high when closed.
