We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely oil on canvas by the artist Walter Robin Jennings, who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner and signed and entitled it verso 'Ponies on the Moor'. The painting depicts a moorland scene on a blustery day, with clouds scudding across the sky and a group of 3 moorland ponies, with their backs against the wind, to the left foreground. There are two more ponies grazing to the right.

Walter Robin Jennings 1927-2005 was born in Dudley, Staffordshire and was an active artist throughout most of his working life. He was a landscape and animal painter, primarily in oil and exhibited widely. His work has been reproduced in card form by Medici, Royle and Solomon & Whitehead. He sadly died in Kiderminster in 2005.

There is one of his paintings in the National Collection and can be viewed at Dudley Museum.

The painting is framed in a 3" mottled, gilt frame and slip and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.

Condition: Excellent. There are no repairs to the canvas, which is clean and taut. There is no paint loss, craquelure or stretcher marks. The frame and slip are in very good condition.
