This is an intricate Vintage Sterling Silver Two Part Belt Buckle in the Rococo style. The elaborate pierced design features scrolls and foliage.

The belt buckle was made in Birmingham by O.J. Silversmiths and dates to 1985. There is very little information to be found on O.J. Silversmiths but they were active in the 1980s and 1990s making flatware and accessories.

Condition is very good, with no dings or dents, no damage to the pierced design and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The belt buckle measures 7.5cm / 2.9ins by 6.3cm / 2.5ins and weighs in at a respectable 31.5g / 1.1oz of solid Sterling Silver.

The hallmarks, split between the two halves of the buckle, are a little rubbed but can still be read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter L for 1985 and the O.J makers' mark for O.J. Silverware.
