Vintage sterling silver fully hallmarked charm bracelet
This is a beautiful wedding themed fully hallmarked sterling silver charm bracelet. A traditional 1960s good quality thick curb bracelet with the padlock heart clasp. Such thought has gone into these charms to make this the perfect wedding gift. The charms are vintage English sterling silver and much more detailed than modern charms. The bracelet is larger than the standard size - measuring 20.5 cm / over 8 inches when closed. The curb height is 8 mm. The heart padlock is hallmarked " R G S ( maker's mark ), leopard's head (London assayed), II ( 1964 ) on the back and lion passant (sterling silver) on the front. Each one of the curbs is hallmarked lion passant - this is fully hallmarked sterling silver. On image five you can see the multiple hallmarked curbs hallmarked with lion passant, the back of the heart and the maker's mark / hallmarks. As you can see the clasp is the traditional heart shaped in the style of a padlock. Charm bracelets were often added to during the life of the owner to mark weddings, births, deaths, where people went on holidays & memorable events. Charms have a long history and are considered to bring the wearer good fortune.
This vintage charm bracelet is wedding themed making it highly collectible. All clasps and hinges work perfectly.
The charms are all gleaming sterling silver and are shown as follows:
A 3D lucky horse shoe.
A well modeled 3D firefighter's helmet - symbolizing the abilities of the groom to rescue and protect.
A 3D wishing well - correct in every tiny detail.
An engagement and wedding ring both three dimensional. The engagement ring ornate and gorgeous and the wedding band plain.
A 3D champagne bottle in a bucket.
The most beautiful 3D opening hinged bible charm. The crucifix is set atop mother of pearl making this an ideal pearl wedding ( 30th ) anniversary gift. The bible is made with great attention to detail. Inside on each side is Our Lord's Prayer set behind glass to protect it. The whole charm is a very realistic miniature.
A heart and cross. The heart is inscribed " CHARITY " on both sides. The cross is inscribed " FAITH ".
An ornate baby's rocking crib.
A 3D claw and orb charm - most historical sources believe that the Ball & Claw design was derived from the Chinese. It is variously described as a dragon’s claw grasping a crystal ball, or a pearl, or sometimes a jewel. In Chinese mythology the dragon ( the Emperor ) would be guarding ( the triple claw foot ) the orb. The orb represents wisdom or purity.
A 3D lucky wish bone to grant the happy couple their wishes.
The most ornate gramophone as music plays part of the ceremony and our lives.
All of the charms are in excellent condition.
The charm bracelet is larger than standard, measuring over 8 inches when closed and weighs 45.5 grams.
