The perfect book tidy for your desk, a good quality Victorian book rest in walnut and brass. The arched ends are hinged and fold flat when not in use. They are decorated with fine pierced and engraved gilded brass plates. The condition is very good, the brass hinges are strong (they can become weakened, so the ends lean outwards). The bottom has new baize. One of the ends has some perishing of the surface polish, due, no doubt, to facing the sun at some time in its life!
