A stunning antique Victorian balloon back walnut dressing table chair or bedroom chair dating from circa 1870s, newly recovered. Featuring an elegant high back with floral carved cresting rail, upholstered seat and upholstered oval back and standing on carved cabriole legs. The walnut frame in good original condition with beautiful patina shaped and carved in the Rococo manner, this beautiful chair would grace any room. Newly recovered over existing sprung and horsehair upholstery which is in fair condition. To the front feet are a pair of Cope’s patent brass and ceramic castors which are often a feature of quality chairs of this period.

Solid frame, wear and marks commensurate with age. Newly recovered over existing sprung and horsehair upholstery which is in fair condition. A few small splits in wood on the inner ring of the back panel.
