This is a fine 19th century country house overmantel mirror.
It has a triple plate frame of broken rectangular outline, styled in the early Georgian manner.

The outer margins of the frame are gilt wood, deeply incised with egg and dart carved detail. The inner mirror plate slips are also of carved gilt wood, and it has pendant carved tassel hung drapery to either side.

The walnut veneer is very good quality, cross grained, and is fading to a lovely honey colour.

The mirror plates are in good condition with a few chips and marks to the silvered backing.
