Victorian Silver Fusee Pocket Watch and Albert
Victorian Silver Fusee Pocket Watch
Chester 1867
with Mixed Link albert & Silver Fob.
Movement and Dial signed L. White, Liverpool.
Movement number 23737.
Key wound and key hand set, key supplied.
Chain fusee drive with anchor escapement.
The albert has no silver marks but the clasp and T-Bar are stamped Sterling.
Silver fob is hallmarked Birmingham 1919 with maker's mark for William James Dingley, Warstone Lane, Birmingham.
Silver watch case has makers mark for Samuel Freeman, Trafalgar Street, Coventry.
The plain silver case has surface marks and wear associated with age and use and several small dents.
The dial does have a chip next to the seconds sub dial, please see photo. The photo, which is magnified and with a flash, makes it seem more conspicuous than it is. In normal use, it won't be so noticeable.
To set the hands, lever open the front with thumbnail, fit the key over the nut where the hands are held and turn the key to move the hands.
Lever open the back to wind the watch with the key.
Approximate dimensions: watch - diameter 50.7mm, weight 122.5 grams, albert - length 30cm with 4.5cm for fob, weight 22.5 grams, fob - 4cm x 2.5cm, weight 8.5 grams, total weight 154.3 grams.
