This is a superb quality antique pair of Victorian mahogany & marquetry inlaid salon side chairs, circa 1890, which has been newly upholstered, and is in excellent condition.

Description:
This is a superb quality antique pair of Victorian mahogany & marquetry inlaid salon side chairs, circa 1890, which has been newly upholstered, and is in excellent condition. The side chairs boast curved, shaped backs, featuring exquisite elaborate satinwood and bone foliate & urn marquetry inlaid back splats and elegant pierced fretwork. The seats have been newly upholstered in cream and pale gold colour structured silk brocade material, finished with matching braiding and traditional hessian backing to the underside. The front of the seat frames features a serpentine design, and the frame in general is decorated with satinwood string inlay throughout, including the backs, arms, seat frame and legs. The couch and chairs rest on cabriole legs to the front and splayed legs to the rear the cabriole legs also display marquetry inlay to the knees.
These chairs boast a rich brown mahogany colour to the frames. As they boast the original polish, the chairs have a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning it has received. It is impossible to recreate this colour if it has been re-polished.
The chairs would look superb in a variety of rooms, from the hallway to the living room or bedroom. It would certainly grace any home and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely set of antique furniture.

This pair of side chairs is in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the mahogany frame, but nothing significant, considering the age of this item. The frame, back and legs of the suite are completely original. Importantly, the backs and arms are firm and there is no play in the joints. There is no missing inlay or marquetry work. The chairs have been newly upholstered in beautiful pale gold & cream coloured structured silk brocade, and finished with matching braiding. The upholstery and braiding is therefore clean and free of marks, dirt or tears. The seats are firm and are comfortable to sit on. The chairs are solid in joint and ready to use.

Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit, therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
Once you have purchased an item, we will contact you be email and/or telephone and provide you with a provisional delivery date, in order for you to confirm if it is suitable for you. Once you have confirmed you can accept delivery on the provisional delivery date, we will book the delivery in with our shippers and it then becomes a confirmed delivery date.
