Victorian Oak Glastonbury Chair / Gothic Armchair
A handsome antique Victorian oak ‘Glastonbury’ armchair dating from circa 1880. In solid oak with the distinctive shaped arms and raised on ‘X’ frame legs united by centre point stretcher, with panelled backrest and seat. The “tusked” joints held together with pegs, were designed to be removed to disassemble the chair for transportation. Good original condition, with good original patina.

Good colour and patina, relatively solid and sturdy. Wear and marks commensurate with age. Some of the peg joints have a few small cracks in places.
