Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian oak and brown leather office / library armchair, with generous proportions, circa 1890, which has been newly upholstered, and is in excellent condition. The chair incorporates a curved, padded backrest, boasting scroll carved sides, secured to oak wraparound upholstered arms, all supported by a bank of turned spindles. The front of the arms also rests on turned supports. The chair is upholstered in a good quality tan brown with traditional horsehair filling, finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. Whilst it may not be the original leather upholstery, it is in good condition, with age related marks. The seat is firm but comfortable. The underside of the seat is covered with hessian in the traditional manner. This armchair sits on tapering turned legs to the front, which terminate on brass castors, and sabre legs to the rear.
The chair frame exhibits a rich brown oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or study as it is so comfortable. This item would certainly grace any home. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.

Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the oak frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair retains boasts a good quality tan brown leather, which has been finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. The seat is firm but comfortable. The underside of the seat is covered with hessian in the traditional manner. Therefore, the leather is in very good condition, with only superficial signs of wear and age-related marks (see photos). The chair frame incorporates the traditional brass studwork tacks to the padded seat perimeter. The chair frame features a rich brown oak colour, having been cleaned and polished in our workshops. The chair incorporates solid brass castors, which are also in good condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.

Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit, therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
Once you have purchased an item, we will contact you be email and/or telephone and provide you with a provisional delivery date, in order for you to confirm if it is suitable for you. Once you have confirmed you can accept delivery on the provisional delivery date, we will book the delivery in with our shippers and it then becomes a confirmed delivery date.

For any large items that require 2 people to lift the item, we ask that you are available at the time of delivery to be able to give our shipper a lift off the van and into your house with the item. A free 14-day “no quibble” returns policy (from the date you receive the item) is available if you are not happy with this item. We will collect the item free of charge from you (we do not charge a return fee / collection fee). You will be given a full refund as long as the item is returned in the same condition. We will collect returns using our own specialist antique furniture delivery company. We will not accept returns via a courier service (due to experience of damaged items in transit).
