A really nice quality oil on board depicting two marine vessels, illustrating sail and steam. The painting is worked in a very capable hand and is signed E. Bland and dated 1893. This type of painting was often done for illustration purposes and this was most likely the case here. The painting is in excellent condition and is mounted in a period gilt frame.
