Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian mahogany leather office armchair (circa 1890), in excellent condition.

Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian mahogany leather office armchair (circa 1890) in excellent condition. The chair has been newly upholstered in top quality full grain sage green leather. The chair features an elegant curved leather buttoned backrest, with a scroll top rail, which connects to open turned “ball” design arms, supported by shaped vertical upright sections. The chair features a green padded leather seat, with brass studwork to its perimeter. This studwork is also visible on the buttoned upright section. The underside of the seat has been webbed in the traditional manner. The chair is extremely comfortable to sit on. The chair stands on prominent ring turned legs to the front, with shaped block legs to the back. This chair was not designed to have and has never had castors.
This item features a rich dark-brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or study as it is so comfortable. This item would certainly grace any home. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.
Condition Report:
The chair is in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair has boasts a top quality full grain sage green leather, which incorporates the traditional brass stud tacks to the seat perimeter, and the webbing to the underside. There are no marks or wear or tear to the leather – the leather is in excellent condition. This chair was not designed to have and has never had castors. Importantly, there are no breaks to the back, arms or legs. As the chair boasts its original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination (this patination and depth of colour cannot be recreated with re-polished furniture). This item is well constructed, is solid in joint and ready to use.
