Here is a fine example of an antique Victorian Gentlemen’s leather armchair, circa 1860, in excellent condition. The chair has been newly upholstered in top quality full grain red leather, showing exceptional craftsmanship with the button upholstery to the back and arms. The leather is finished with hand-tacked antique brass studs to the perimeter of the upholstery. The chair boasts a top quality moulded mahogany frame, with a reclining back, scrolled carved arms set above a serpentine moulded front rail on carved cabriole legs to the front and splayed legs to the rear. The chair retains its original brass and mug castors. The quality of the timber and carvings to this chair frame is second to none compared to similar chairs on the market today. This chair is extremely comfortable, has a fantastic original colour and is in excellent condition.

This chair is in excellent condition. Importantly, there are no breaks to the arms or legs. The chair has been newly upholstered with top quality full grain red leather. The underside of the seat is finished with traditional hessian backing. The arms, frame and seat are completely solid and show no signs of movement. The leather seat is in excellent condition and is free from any holes, damage or rips. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the mahogany frame. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. The chair sits on its original mug castors. This chair is solid in joint and ready to use.
