A charming naive school oil on pine panel painting of highland cows. The painting shows a typical group of highland cattle in mountainous setting. There is a hug amount of naive charm to the work with a expressions the cows have. The whole is in good condition with a fine craqueleure. Painting on pine panels is unusual and the work may actually be Scottish. The painting is framed in a fine Victorian period birds eye maple frame and the whole has a great country look. C.1850.
