A beautifully ornate Victorian butterfly brooch decorated in variety of five precious gems and set in hand crafted fold on silver body and dates from circa 1885. This wonderfully colourful Victorian butterfly brooch is adorned with beautiful gem-set wings and body. A total of approx 2ct of sapphires, rubies, rose-cut diamonds, moonstones and opal all glisten throughout the openwork design of the brooch. A delightful antique animal jewel inspired by the beauty of nature, with a 41mm wingspan.

CONDITION - Very good, surface scratches and wear commensurate with age. All gems are securely set and original to the earrings. They’re designed with hook fittings for pierced ears.
