Diamond and gold tie or lapel pin in original box.

A lovely tie or lapel pin made of 9ct gold with an old cut diamond of approximately 0.25 carat weight. Although it is not hallmarked it dates from the late Victoria period when Edward VII was the Prince of Wales.
The superb original box screams quality and is shaped perfectly for a diamond pin. It is lined with both rich blue velvet and silk. On the inner lid is printed the purveyor
"Hancocks & Co. Jewellers & Silversmiths To the Queen, The Prince and Princess of Wales. Bruton Street London". The Queen being Queen Victoria.
The diamond unscrews from the pin allowing other jewels to be fitted or for the diamond to be used elsewhere. The pin is just over 5cm long.

All in good condition, including the box.
