Victorian Carved Walnut-Framed Upholstered Chair antique Victorian occasional %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
This lovely occasional chair dates from the second half of the nineteenth century. It has a carved walnut frame with a decorative balloon back, a shaped front apron below the seat, and is supported on serpentine front legs with carved shoulders and swept back legs. The seat is over-upholstered with later upholstery.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some areas of restoration and repair, including to the back rest, and there is some movement in the joints and the repairs. The seat is slightly sunken, and the upholstery is grubby, faded and stained, and would benefit from replacement.
