Victorian Carved Rosewood Upholstered Armchair

An attractive high quality antique armchair. We date this chair to the late 19th century.
The chair sits on lovely carved legs at the front and splayed legs at the rear all with their original castors.
The backrest frame has a lovely carved rosewood toprail with a padded backrest, serpentine front seat pad and armrests.
The chair is upholstered in an olive green velour material with braided detail.
The chair is very comfortable to sit on, while the backrest provides excellent support for the back.
The chair has an overall height of 38" (97cm), an overall width of 24.5" (62cm), an overall depth of 25.5" (65cm), a backrest height of 22" (56cm), a seat height of 15.5" (40cm), a seat width of 19" (48cm) and a seat depth of 20" (51cm).
The chair is in very good condition with only very minor surface marks commensurate with age and usage. There is a small piece of the carving missing from a front leg.
This remains a very stylish and elegant antique armchair. It is very comfortable and supportive to sit on and will continue to provide rest and relaxation for many years to come.
