Victorian Button Back Tub Armchair J.Taylor & Sons
A good quality antique Victorian walnut framed button back tub armchair by John Taylor and sons of Edinburgh. With carved walnut legs to the front and back with good quality original brass castors, the inside back leg stamped with makers name. Very comfortable, traditionally upholstered, would benefit recovering.
Established in 1825 in Edinburgh, John Taylor and Sons were renowned cabinet makers producing high quality antique furniture to the latest designs using the finest timbers. In 1852 they were appointed cabinet Makers to her Majesty the Queen. One of the largest cabinet makers in Scotland in the 19th century employing nearly 300 people at their height, the company eventually closed its doors in 1945.

Solid and sturdy with wear and marks commensurate with age. Lot of marks to the fabric, upholstery underneath is fine, would benefit recovering.
