Victorian brass bullseye magnifying glass on stand c1890. Convex (bullseye) glass lens securely located within a brass bezel on an articulated cross-bar. Ball joint attaching the cross bar to upright support on a circular weighted base. Cross-bar can be rotated which together with the universal ball joint enables the bullseye lens to be located in any position. Lens with bezel measures 6cm in diameter. Height to top of stand is 18.5 cm.
This magnifier is in very good condition commensurate with age. Bullseye lens with no chips, cracks or scratches. Articulation of cross-bar and ball joint is smooth. Stand solid. Some visible losses to lacquered brass finish which shows age-related tarnish. Please see images as these form an important part of the description. Viewing welcomed - please contact us in advance.
