Very Large Oil Painting, Portrait of an Old Gentlman and His dog

A wonderful statement piece and such a handsome subject, our sitter has curly white beard and sparkling blue eyes

He is sitting in his study with book in one hand and his faithful companion at his feet
The painting is an oil on canvas in a lovely original gilt frame
There is no signature but nevertheless less a character piece of country house decoration
The frame is 58” high, 36” wide and 3.5” deep
