Here we have a very rare opportunity to own these two beautiful sculptures of 'The Laughing Boy' c1890. As you can see they both have amazing colour and patina. These two are after the marble sculpture by Desiderio Da Settignano 1460-64. The original resides in the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna.The Bronze version is stamped H. Luppens & Cie. Luppens were a well established maker of fine bronzes in Brussels Belgium. The other version is carved from a single piece of solid heartwood Elm and again has outstanding colour and patina. I have owned the Elm one in my personal collection for some time and amazingly I had the opportunity to buy a Bronze version recently. An extremely rare opportunity to own two versions of this delightful boy which lightens up any room. The dimensions are approx 31 cm high 28 cm wide 16 cm deep.
