A realy interesting and decorative oil on canvas depicting an artist's studio. The scene shows a sparse room with table set out with paints and brushes with the light coming in from high windows and to the side is a chair and table set for tea. The quality of the work is very good and the painting is very thick in places to add to the texture of light and dark. The painting is signed A.v.Embden and dated 1926. I have been unable to identify the artist but is likely to be German. The painting is mounted in the original gilt frame and the whole is in excellent condition.
