The "Apotal Process" refers to a specific type of high-quality, large-format photographic lens, the Cooke Apotal Process lens, manufactured by Cooke Optics/Taylor Hobson, designed for critical tasks like technical reproduction, copying, and photolithography, known for its flat field and sharp images, especially at smaller apertures, for capturing large originals onto large negatives.

I came across this, in its original box, in an antique shop. I’ve bought and sold many cameras, but had never heard of this. I googled it to find out the information above. It is mounted on a cogged plate, and appears to be in very good condition, as is the hand made box.. The lens are unmarked, but I’ve been unable to test it. It’s certainly nothing I can use, so it needs a good home.
