Very good quality painting by this listed artist of a Georgian Gentleman "Taking It Easy" with his pipe and a glass of claret.

Pike was born in Plymouth, Devon, England, moving to London in adulthood. A genre painter he exhibited widely during the latter part of the 19th Century including many works at the Royal Academy & the Royal Hibernian Society. Now collected internationally his paintings are also found in the British Museum.
