Syrian / Damascus Marquetry Games Table C. 1900
A Syrian , Damascus , marquetry games table , Circa 1900 .
Intricately inlaid throughout with geometric designs in boxwood, ebony, mother of pearl, olive and various other exotic woods.
The craftsmanship involved in making these antique tables is truly amazing .
The table can be used to play Cards, Backgammon, Chess , Draughts . The top opens revealing a baised surface for playing Cards , A separate backgammon board with the chess board to the reverse.
The table top lifts off from the base , raised on arched shaped legs with a useful inlaid shelf to the base .
The table is beautifully inlaid throughout with intricate geometric designs in boxwood, ebony, mother of pearl, olive and various other exotic woods. Condition- Very good antique condition with minimal wear .
