A wonderful pair of Victorian folk art oil paintings. The paintings have an enormous amount of naive charm with primitive figures and naive perspective contrasting with a huge amount of detail. The pair of works show different views one a view of a ruined tower with figures and the other a large view of a boating lake. It is very unsual to get a pair of naive works in such good condition and of such charm. The paintings have been professionally cleaned and a small hole in one repaired. The two have been framed in Victorian gilt frames of complimentary naive design and finish. C.1870.
