Stunning Late Victorian Costume Jewellery Brooch
A most dramatic Late Victorian oval brooch which measures approx. 6.4cms x 4cms. The large central paste is a clear delicate pink colour. All of the stones are claw-set and seem secure and undamaged. The metalwork is gold in colour but it does not have any marks stamped on it and I have not had it tested. The stones are lively and reflect light well. The scrollwork is detailed and the three dimensional nature is similar to earlier cannetille work. A very wearable brooch which has a positive C catch. There is a small amount of staining in a couple of the corners on the back of the brooch but this may clean and certainly does not affect the appeal of this brooch. Items are shipped using Royal Mail 'Signed For' Service in the UK, charged at cost.
