A wonderful painted portrait by respected artist Richard Britton

The painting was recently mounted in a 1930s oak glazed frame with gilt slip which compliments
the dog portrait wonderfully.
Richard has been a professional artist for over thirty years. His work has been exhibited by the Society of Equestrian Artists and the Society of Wildlife Artists. His studio is set in the grounds of his Worcestershire home where he lives with his wife Paula. He has exhibited and undertaken commissioned work for leading galleries throughout the UK and the Netherlands, New York, Texas and Cape Town. Closer to home, he is a regular exhibitor at Worcester Society of Artist shows.

For six months Richard painted endangered species in South Africa at the invitation of the Department of Nature Conservation. This particularly productive period was followed by a series of private commissions to paint equestrian subjects in the Cape.

His scope extends to portraiture, landscapes, seascapes and sculpture. In his work he enjoys using a full range of media including oils, watercolours and pastels. Richard enjoys teaching and has tutored life classes at his studio as well as guiding overseas tours for both watercolour and pastel artists. He is an international rifle shot and has captained several Great Britain teams.

A committed conservationist, Richard’s paintings have been used for the promotion of a variety of environmental causes worldwide.
