Tasty still life of gastronomic subject c.1950. A brace of ducks hung on a nail over stone ledge on which stands a lidded pewter jug and a plate with a cauliflower and a cooked lobster. Lemons and oyster shells balance on the ledge beside the plate. Nicely painted in oils on canvas with textured treatment of the background. Good condition with a small patch repair. Presented unframed on the original stretcher.
