Still Life Cherries & Roses By Constance Cooper
I am delighted to offer for sale this very well executed still life oil on canvas by the Croydon artist CONSTANCE M. COOPER, who has signed the painting in the lower left hand corner,which beautifully depicts a still life bowl of cherries sat next to a glass vase containing pale and dark pink roses, displayed on a small table.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
CONSTANCE M. COOPER Was born in 1905 and lived in Croydon, Surrey.
She studied at Croydon College of Art and was elected to the Society of Women Artists, becoming their Vice President.
She was also the President of Croydon Art Society for 22 years. According to their website, she had a business in London employing 23 girls in the design and construction of lampshades for royalty.
She was a great supporter of the Scout movement and was largely responsible for the Society raising and donating many thousands of pounds to charities, including the Scouts. At one time she lived at 35 Shirley Park Road, Croydon.
FRAME
The painting is framed in the original 2 1/4" ornate swept gilt frame with linen insert and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.

MEDIUM: Oils on canvas
CONDITION
Excellent. There are no repairs to the canvas, which is clean and taut. There is no craquelure, stretcher marks, or missing paint. The frame is in very good condition.

Returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt if the item is found to have been misdescribed and the purchaser may be liable for the return costs subject to reasons for return.
