Silver Plate Triangular Small Tray, Garrard & Co
This is a stylish small Mid-Century Silver Plated Triangular Tray. The tray has raised rounded corners and engine turned decoration on the base. The tray would be suitable for putting a condiment set on, as a coaster for a round sauce boat or jug or it works well as a bottle stand for any standard size bottle including sparkling wine.
The tray is made in London by world famous silversmiths and jewellers Garrard & Co and dates to around the 1960s / 1970s. One of the greatest names in British silver, Garrard & Co trace their origin back to 1722 with Robert Garrard joining the firm as a partner in the 1790s. They were the official Crown Jewellers from 1843 to 2007. In 1952 they merged with The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co and took over the use of their brand name Regent Plate.
Condition is very good with no dings or dents and no significant plate loss, just the superficial surface wear that has to be expected with the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The tray is 13cm / 5.1ins from top to bottom, 14cm / 5.5ins from point to point and 1.8cm / 0.71ins high. It weighs 117.2g / 4.1oz.
The underside of the tray is marked Garrard & Co, 112 Regent Street and Regent Plate.
