A Beautiful Signed Hand-Knotted Tree of Life Pattern Qom Persian Silk Rug

The asymmetrical centre panel of this intricate and luscious rug focuses on the iconic tree of life which is surrounded by the birds of paradise on a midnight blue background.
The red border repeats images of other animals such as deer, gazelle, ibexes and foliage featured within the design.
The high percentage of silk and high knot density within this design means that the rug has a lustre which can be picked up from different angles when walking around the rug, highlighting the intricacy of the design and adding depth, there is a signature it the top in the border.
This silk rug dated from the middle of the 20th Century it measures 51” x 78” it is in very good condition with very slight fading and still retains good clean fringing.
