Oak Frame Set of Six Chairs - Rush Seated - c1880
This superb set of six oak kitchen dining chairs are presented in good solid order throughout.
The chairs display a fine shape and are presented in excellent condition.
Crafted from oak and dating from the late Victorian period this set exudes warmth and charm.
A comfortable rush seat is supported by a continuous rear leg which flows through to the serpentine shaped rear top rail with relief carved leaf detail. Between the upper and lower rails lie eight tear-drop and bobbin turned spindles.
The chairs ride upon turned tapering legs to the front which are joined on all sides by stretcher bars for extra robustness and durability.
The oak is a pleasing and consistent colour showing good levels of grain.
This chairs will make a charming addition to any home and will sit well against a pine, elm, oak or painted table.
The individual chairs are all in good order, solid and ready for another 130 years of service.
A lovely set which will suit both traditional and contemporary locations.
