This is an outstanding and quite beautiful set of four stipple engravings by H Thielcke after Princess Elizabeth, daughter of King George III. This exquisite collection dates from the early 19th century and depicts scenes from the classics including 'Pylades and Orestes at the Tomb of Agememnon', 'Escaping from Fire', 'A Pilgrim Relating his Adventures' and another, untitled. The engravings are very finely done and the colours have great depth. They are presented in verre eglomise and gilded frames in the Regency taste which compliment them perfectly. All are in perfect condition and measure 32 cms by 27 cms including the frames.
