We have for sale a charming Schuco Janus Golden Mowhair Two Face Bear.

This lovely 19502 German mowhair toy bear has articulated legs and arms along with a two faced head, one face bearing a rather serious expression and the other being a more comical clowns face. The head is also articulated and turned via knob at the base of the torso of the bear. The bear dates to around 1954 two, two years or so after the Schuco factory was rebuilt.

The bear is approximately 3.5 inches tall and in a good vintage condition although the tongue is missing and there is a little loss of hair from the legs on one side.

The toy manufacturer Schuco was established in 1921 by Heinrich Schreyer, but was bombed out during WW2. The factory was rebuilt in Nuremurg in 1952 and initially manufactured toys mostly for the US market. Schoco was eventually declared bankrupt in 1976, but the brand was relaunched sometime around 1999.
