This is a small, charming, hand-coloured lithographic print of Montpellier Walk in Cheltenham by Robert Tavener RE (1920-2004). It is printed on card and signed in pencil by the artist bottom right, with title bottom left.

This lithograph was produced by Tavener later in his life during the 1980s following his retirement from Eastbourne College of Art and Design. The size of the edition is unknown but likely to be very small, with each one being slightly different as the colouring was added by hand by Tavener after printing. We acquired 5 of these small lithographic prints, two of Venice, two of East Sussex (now sold) and this one of Cheltenham. A trawl through the internet has not uncovered any other examples of these scenes which supports our view that the editions were very small.
