'River Lug' oil painting by William Stone
A charming oil on canvas landscape by Victorian period Birmingham artist William Stone. The painting has a detailed title on the reverse 'On the river Lug near Leominster, Herefordshire' and shows a river landscape with ducks and a cottage in the distance. William Stone was an exhibiting artist and flourished between 1865-1878 he had works in the Royal Academy and Sussex Street gallery. The work is in excellent condition having been professionally cleaned and a little light restoration. The painting is mounted in a modern good quality bespoke gilt frame. The artist's work is highly desirable in his home city and this is a charming period landscape. C.1870
