Regency Rosewood upholstered salon armchair
This is a top quality salon chair. It is late Georgian / early Victorian, dating from 1830 - 1850. It is supreme quality. The frame is in rosewood and just look at how elegantly the frame has been carved with flower motifs and beautiful knurled legs. The chair is upholstered and is a button back. The upholstery is old but serviceable. You wouldn't want to replace it.
The rosewood frame is beautiful. There are a few old repairs as you would expect on a period chair like this. One foot has been repaired - see photo and there is a couple of cracks to the leading edges - see photos.
This period chair is top quality. It will look good in a principal room or as a very posh bedroom chair.
Good thing.
The chair seat is 14 inches high and the back is 35 inches high, The seat is 24 inches wide and 30 inches deep.
