A handsome antique Regency mahogany open armchair dating from circa 1820. The oblong top-rail above a carved crossbar both with flame figured veneer. It has turned arm supports and turned legs to the front and sabre legs to the back. The drop-in seat has been newly re-upholstered in a stripy fabric. Solid and sturdy, a beautiful statement piece that would make a handsome desk chair or bedroom chair.

Condition Report:
Solid and sturdy with wear and marks commensurate with age. An old mend to the crossbar (see photo). An old screw to the underneath of the arm, which has been filled with wax. Newly reupholstered.
